Children in the age group of 3 – 11 years are prone to Head lice.It is extremely contagious and personal hygiene do little in protecting children from the risk. Research shows Indian medicinal practice called Ayurveda can treat Head Lice. It mentions of a herb called Pukka Herb which takes care of this menace.This article tries to gain further insight.

The Why and What of Hair Lice: They are wingless insects residing on the head scalp.They feed on human blood exclusively. The eggs laid by these insects are known as Dandruff. They appear on the neckline and behind the ears easily. The presence of these insects cause frequent itching, tickling feeling in the hair. Later sores are formed due to constant scratching of the scalp. Because of its potent contagious nature, the entire family needs medication if one member of the family gets hair lice.

How to use Pukka Herbs :
- The extracts of this herb are added with other products of medicinal value.
- In this way a Pukka herbal oil is prepared.
- Apply this oil and massage the head. Then the normal shampoo can be added.
- Leave the head in such state for 2 hours.
- This allows the components of the Pukka Herb and the shampoo to kill the insects.
- Rinse the hair well and apply the conditioner.
- Comb the hair thoroughly with a nit comb.
- This process is to be repeated thrice per week, till the head gets rid of louse completely.
