Symptoms of Appendicitis

. Appendix is situated in the lower right portion of the abdomen. Appendicitis was early discovered by the Reginald Fitz in the year 1886. This can be affected at any age. But it mostly affects people between the age group 10-30 years.
Appendicitis is categorised into two. One is Acute appendicitis and the other is Chronic appendicitis. Among the two, Acute Appendicitis is most commonly seen.
Most of the people have common symptoms that a doctor can identify the disease. Main symptom is the pain in the abdomen.
In Acute Appendicitis, there is a possibility of swelling in the abdomen. The pain in the abdomen occurs suddenly and may worsen in hours. It becomes severe while taking deep breaths, coughing or sneezing.
Other symptoms include vomiting, loss of appetite, fever ranging between 99° F to 102° F, painful urination, diarrhea with gas and passing stool may become difficult.
Its easy to detect Acute Appendicitis, but if left untreated, it may worsen the situation and may turn into Chronic Appendicitis.
Though Chronic Appendicitis is rare, it has the symptoms of the acute appendicitis. The pain in lower right side of the abdomen increases gradually. It may result rupture in the intestine.This disease may cause damage to the intestines.
One should note that it is very difficult to identify the symptoms of the chronic appendicitis. Physical examination along with Pathological tests should be done. Tests such as scanning and ultra-sound scan can easily detect this disease. It even takes time to get diagnosed and there is a chance of infecting the other parts also.
Its better to diagnose the appendicitis as early as possible so that the situation may not become worse.
