  • Food should be chewed well. Food digestion begins in the mouth. Proper chewing of food breaks down the food into digestible and absorbable pieces. The food is digested efficiently, when the food enters the digestive system slowly. Eating junk food likes burgers and pizzas overload the digestive system and the digestion process slows down.

  • Eat more whole grains, vegetables and, fruits. Kids protest to eat fruits and vegetable so parents should be prepared to overcome that. Ample fiber content is available in he fruits and vegetables. This improves the digestion process. Fiber along with water accelerates the process of digestion.
  • Kids should be encouraged to eat food that which are natural like home-made foods, fruits and vegetables. Preserved and processed foods have deficiency in nutrients. These processed foods contain fat, sugar and salts. Heavy intake of processed foods slows down the digestion process. Try to avoid those foods as much as possible.
  • Eat small meals and take them very frequently. Small meals increase the digestion in kids. Large meals increase the stress on the digestive system.
