What Causes Indigestion Pain?

Indigestion is a common digestive disorder and a vague feeling of discomfort in the abdomen. It leads to heartburn, belching, bloating, nausea and a feeling of fullness. Acid indigestion can affect various areas of the body. It can affect stomach and chest and gives back pain also.

Indigestion chest pain one of the most frequent and common symptom in the people who suffer from indigestion. This is because many of the causes of indigestion affects the esophagus and upper area of stomach.

Causes of Indigestion Chest Pain:

There are different causes that have the indigestion chest pain symptoms.

  • Peptic ulcer-

    since these ulcers are found in esophagus and upper stomach area. It will cause indigestion chest pain. The ulcers are open sore and are developed by use of some pain medications as ibuprofen and aspirin. These drugs can be hard on esophageal and stomach lining. The other cause of ulcer is bacteria, Heliobacter pylori. It must be treated with some modifications in diet or medicines.

  • Heartburn-

    this usually causes indigestion chest pain. Heartburn commonly occurs when the stomach acid backs up into the esophagus. It causes discomfort and pain. It is caused due to overeating, spicy and fatty foods and failure of the lower esophageal valve. It causes sore throat, nausea and discomfort.

  • Gastritis-

    it is also the cause of indigestion in some people. It is the inflammation of inner lining of the stomach. It is caused by some medicines and bacteria. It can also be caused by alcohol consumption. The condition of indigestion chest pain due to gastritis is more of a burning pain in the chest area. It is not a sharper pain. The problem of gastritis can also be minimized by changing eating and drinking habits, lowering medicine intake.
