What Is Aromasin Indigestion?

Aromasin is the newest and best aromatase inhibitor drug. The active ingredient is Exemestane and the manufacturer is Pharmacia & Upjohn SpA. The drug is prescribed for treating various types of breast cancer.

The primary role of the drug is to lower the estrogen levels in the body. Estrogen is needed to facilitate the advancement of breast cancer and tumors in postmenopausal women. Hence, Aromasin drug prevents cancer to develop again. The drug is still effective when other medications have failed. But the drug is associated with some side effects.

Aromasin And Indigestion:

  • Some rare side effects are observed in 2 to 3 percent of patients taking this drug.
  • These patients complain of indigestion problems along with other symptoms like bone fracture, sinus infections, runny nose, heartburn, difficulty in sleeping, burning sensation in the body, bronchitis and urinary tract infections and numbness in limbs

Aromasin Side-Effects:

  • Common side effects occur in 12 to 32 percent of patients. These include nausea, high blood pressure resulting in headache, fatigue, hair loss, insomnia and joints pain.
  • Less common side effects found in 5 to 12 percent of patients. These include increased perspiration, pain in legs and arms, muscle and stomach pain, water retention may cause swelling, weight loss due to appetite loss and nutritional deficiencies.
  • Serious side effects occur infrequently. These include depression feeling, anxiety and can also lead to growth in tumor size. Allergic reactions can also occur like face swelling including throat and tongue, rashes, itching, difficulty in breathing or swallowing.
  • Rare side effects found in 2 to 5 percent of patients taking Aromasin. These include indigestion, heartburn which gives discomfort sleep, bone fracture, confusion, sinus infections, runny nose, burning sensation in the body, bronchitis and urinary tract infection.
