Indigestion also called dyspepsia which is a common digestive disorder. It generally occurs due to overeating, eating too fast, eating fatty and spicy foods, alcohol, smoking and stressful conditions. In some people, it occurs due to ulcers and acid reflux also.

Indigestion can give rise to various disorders as weak digestive system, too much or less acid in stomach which causes improper digestion of food. These people suffer from flatulence, burping, stomach pain, cramping, excess gas formation, belly swelling and heartburn. It can be treated by some remedies available in home.

These easy remedies can always be present in home. It can be taken anytime when you are experiencing the problem of indigestion-

  • Herbs- Peppermint, ginger, Slippery elm bark and Chamomile can relieve the symptoms of indigestion. These herbs can be taken in the form of tablets or tea.
  • Drink herbal tea of raspberry, blackberry and mint to remove indigestion.
  • Lemon juice or cider vinegar in a glass of water before meals proves a good cure for indigestion.
  • Orange and grapes are effective in relieving indigestion.
  • Half glass pineapple juice after meals is also a useful remedy for indigestion.
  • A tablespoon of lemon juice in a cup of hot water helps to cure indigestion.
  • Juice of raw potato or egg white is also helpful.
  • Meadowsweet, lavender, thyme and speedwell help relieve the problem of indigestion.
  • Fennel, feverfew and dill cures indigestion.
  • Mixture of half tablespoon of baking soda and half glass water also heps relieve the symptoms.
