Thus, the enzyme lactase, produced in the small intestine, plays an important role in the digestion of lactose. Lactose indigestion in babies is primarily caused due to the deficiency of enzyme lactase. However, this condition is rare in children below 2 years.

  • Abdominal pain
  • Diarrhea
  • Crying after having milk or milk products

Treatment for lactose intolerance in babies

Lactose-free diet:

Including partially digested products is a new approach to treat lactose intolerance. You may have yogurt, cheese etc., in the diet.

Lactose-free formula:
