Home Remedies for Indigestion

Indigestion also called dyspepsia is a condition of the stomach where the digestive juices are not produced properly, which results in discomfort. Home remedies for indigestion is the best cure as it controls heartburn, acidity and bloating. There are many factors for indigestion like eating food without chewing properly, overeating, improperly cooked food and lack of exercise.

Home Remedies for Dyspepsia

Some of the simple home remedies for indigestion are:

  • Add some drops drops of mint essence in a glass of water and drink this mixture for three to four times a day. This helps in flushing out the toxins from the system.
  • Mint leaves can be chewed after meals as this helps to cure indigestion.
  • Mix apple lemon juice or cider vinegar in water and drink this before meals.
  • You can also drink lemon mixed with honey in water as this is another excellent cure for indigestion.
  • Herbal tea can be prepared from blackberry leaves, chamomile or mint leaves along with the regular tea as it relaxes your stomach and improves the digestion.
  • Mix garlic oil with soya oil and rub this mixture over the stomach twice daily.
  • You can also chew small pieces of salted and fresh ginger for five to ten minutes before any meal everyday.
  • Take some baking soda and add this to some of the chopped fresh garlic and add some salt and eat it.
  • You could also drink by mixing baking soda in water as it is very useful for upset stomach.
  • Take 3 to 4 basil leaves and add it in three tablespoons of curd. You can also add a pinch of salt and black pepper. This mixture can be taken 3 – 4 times everyday. This helps in relieving you from any type of stomach problems.
  • You can chew ½ teaspoon of carom seeds with a pinch of rock salt. This can also be swallowed with water.
