Home Remedies for Constipation:

Constipation is usually not a medical emergency, unless there are symptoms like rectal bleeding, nausea et. So, all one needs to do is to bring a change in diet which would include fibers and fluids.

  • Firstly, one can start off by consuming grapes. Grapes act as natural laxatives, thanks to the presence of organic acids and cellulose in them. Another fruit that is helpful is guava. When eaten as a whole, the seeds in the fruit provide enough roughage to create bowel movements.
  • Drinking a glass of warm milk before going to bed (in the nights) would help create a healthy morning routine of bowel movements. Also, a glass of milk in the mornings will also help maintain the daily routine.
  • Taking bran cereals is another diet modification that will help bowel movements.
  • Lemon juice and Aloe juice also help relieve constipation problems.

Home-made Juices For Relieving Constipation:

The following home-made juices would also help constipation associated issues.

  • Take a glass of apple juice. Put it into a blender along with an organic apple, raisins and figs and blend it. Drink it with your breakfast everyday until you experience relief.
  • Consuming oat milk mixed with either fig or prune juices would also help the cause.
  • A combination of figs, bananas, rice milk and honey when taken as a shake is also very helpful.

  2. One home remedy not mentioned here is kiwi. It is one of the most affordable and easiest remedies. There was a study done in the World Journal of Gastroenterology in 2007 that showed 55% of subjects eating kiwi fruit 2x/day for 4 weeks had increased transit times of food moving through the gut as well as less discomfort associated with constipation. The only down side is that the little fruit is a tad high in sugar if your using it for constipation relief.
